Consultations

Consultations

I offer one service through this site: a pre-season document review. If you are not sending documents, there is also a single paid call.

Pre-season document review

Fee: starting at $1,500, fixed in writing before work begins

Before your preparer starts, you send me the tax documents you have gathered for the year. I review them and send back a written list in three parts:

  1. Missing items. Forms and statements that your facts suggest should be there but are not.
  2. Misfiled items. Documents sorted under the wrong year, person, or entity.
  3. Open decisions. Questions your preparer or counsel still needs to decide, written so you can hand the list to them.

The review does not include preparing or filing a return, and it does not replace your preparer or attorney.

Not eligible

  • Advice on whether to buy, sell, or hold an asset
  • Investment advice
  • Approving or signing off on a deal
  • Legal advice

60-minute call (for people not sending documents)

$1,000 for 60 minutes, including a one-page written summary. This is for a tax question you want to talk through, such as residency, estimated payments, or entity structure, without sending files. The same limits apply.

How to inquire

Ask first. Never send tax documents by plain email, including your first message.

Email hello@raymondhallea.com with:

  1. Which service you want
  2. The tax year and the states involved
  3. A rough count of entities and K-1s
  4. Your preparer's deadline

If it is a fit, I will confirm scope and fee in writing, then send you an encrypted Proton Drive upload link for your documents.

The fine print

Emailing me does not create an engagement. Work starts only under a signed letter with a defined scope. Posts on this site are educational only and are not tax, legal, or investment advice. For your own situation, consult your own CPA, EA, or attorney. See Disclaimers.
